Dordy Jourdain is currently the Executive Director of the Bedford-­‐Stuyvesant YMCA. Responsible for overseeing the branches daily operations including membership, youth programming, facility management, finance, board and volunteer development, and fund development. Since the beginning of his tenure as director of the Bed-­‐Stuy Branch, Dordy has made youth development and community relations a major priority. Dordy joined the Bedford Stuyvesant YMCA in 2008, following a 2 and half year post as Executive Director of the Flatbush YMCA. There he created innovative community based partnerships, and youth and teen programs that connected young people to local business professionals and community leaders, helping to transform their lives. He also revitalized the branch’s early childhood music program, which is supportive of balanced development of young children. During his 20 year YMCA career which began at the Harlem YMCA, Mr. Jourdain has been credited with the improvement of struggling branches, building branch financial success, developing resources and alliances with government agencies, legislators and non-­‐profit organizations generating funds to support youth programming and community development. Dordy holds a BS in Political Science from City College of the City University of New York. He serves as Board Chair of DREAM, is a member of Association of YMCA Professionals, Boys and Girls High School Advisory Committee and Executive Leadership Institute. Born in Haiti, Dordy is a resident of the Bedford-­‐Stuyvesant community and an avid runner.
