Launch of the CIBS Workforce Adult Internship Program

Today we are happy to announce the launch of the Workforce Adult Internship Program. To begin our pilot program we are seeking host employers.

The internship duration is 12 weeks/20 hours a week starting April 2012. This is an unpaid internship experience, but we ask that Host Employers supply a MetroCard to cover transportation cost.

The objective of the CIBS Workforce Internship Program is twofold. Collectively the CIBS Workforce Network seeks to offer unemployed or underemployed Workforce Alumni, an opportunity to engage in a comprehensive learning experience that will offer: specific job competencies, the application and augmentation of skills (i.e. MS Office, communication), career and sector exploration, mentoring, peer-to-peer support and professional development in a supportive cohort. Moreover, the proposed program is devised to be a learning experience and opportunity to formulate “internal” capacity building as well as identify methods of service optimization and program scalability.
