BCF UpdatesBrooklyn Community Foundation is looking for a new home for our ‘company car’, a 2006 Toyota Prius. Please submit no more than three paragraphs that explain why your organization would benefit from the car donation and how it would be used to advance your organization’s program services. Your organization does not need to be a previous grantee of the Foundation, but should be based in Brooklyn to qualify. The recipient will be chosen through a lottery of qualifying submissions. Deadline for submission is December 20th at 9am.

Our conference room is available for meetings of up to 30 people, free of charge. Reserve the space for meetings after January 2nd by contacting Kavie Barnes A list of caterers and restaurants in the area can be provided upon request.Funding Opportunities

Citizens Committee
Neighborhood Grants, Citizens Committee awards micro-grants of up to $3,000 to resident-led groups in Title I and low income neighborhoods to work on community and school improvement projects throughout the city. Submit your application by January 27, 2014. For information on how to apply visit:
Echoing Green
Echoing Green’s Fellowship Programs will offer more than $3.8 million in seed-stage funding and support this year to emerging leaders working to bring about positive social change. Fellowship programs are in three distinct areas: Global Fellowship, Open Society Black Male Achievement (BMA) Fellowship, and Climate Fellowship. Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration
Honoring Restoration’s founder, Robert F. Kennedy, Restoration’s annual RFK Memorial Holiday Party promotes literacy and healthy lifestyles in Central Brooklyn. Kids ages 5 – 12 will enjoy a variety of activities from face painting and storytelling to live music and giveaways! Please join them on Saturday, December 14 at 9am for the festivities. Details at
