K.E. was looking for a position as a cook. Yet, she had been searching for a job for over one year. Through a referral, K.E. reached out to the workforce unit at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation for assistance. Job developers worked with her to prepare for the job search process and create a resume that effectively communicated her accomplishments. K.E. was placed as an assistant cook with a catering company where she started at $10 an hour. She is now making over $12 an hour. Her ultimate goal is to go to culinary school. The team continues to work with her to identify on-going training opportunities offered by the NYC Department of Small Business Services’ Workforce 1 Career Center.
